After
a successful weekend on the hardwood with Chicago Express at the King James
Classic, Chris Colvin has picked up two scholarship offers. Coaches
from various schools came to open gyms this week at his high school
(Chicago Whitney Young) and two schools were impressed enough to extend
offers to the 6-2 point guard.
“Yes Florida State and Oklahoma
did offer,” stated his father, Ike Colvin Sr. “These are two schools we are
very interested in, but there is no leader. We are wide open. I want my son to
go to a school that is right for him, and his style of play.”
Colvin played alongside James Pointer (Chicago Leo) and a number of other good
prospects on Reggie Rose’s Chicago Express team, and led them to a very good
showing at the King James Classic. Colvin showed off his terrific ball handling
skills, precision passing, great transition game, and improving outside shot
throughout the weekend.
Florida State
and Oklahoma are now among a long list of
schools that have offered, including Iowa,
Bradley, Northern Illinois, Miami (OH), Illinois,
Miami (FL), California,
and others.
